BOBE MAISES IS AVAILABLE WITH HEBREW SUBTITLES NOW!

Many of you have asked if we would translate this beautiful animated film, inspired by Jewish folklore, into Hebrew—and we couldn't ignore your requests.

We presented this version at a special screening in Israel yesterday. It is also available on YouTube now (link in the first comment).

This would not have been possible without the help of our partners, the «немалаנְמָלָה» project. This initiative fosters connections between Ukrainian and Hebrew literature through translations into both languages.

The project was founded by Asaf Bartov and Nataliia Tymkiv, an Israeli-Ukrainian couple. Initially, they wanted to share the cultural heritage of their respective countries and give their daughter access to both traditions. Nowadays, it has grown far beyond their family and has become an actual bridge between Ukraine and Israel.

The project has already published three novels in Hebrew and has helped make Bobe Maises accessible to Hebrew-speaking audiences.

The animated film was created in 1993 by MaGiKa-Film and was restored in 2024 with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
