“The Floor Is Lava” Film Project to Compete at Baltic Event Co-Production Market
Kateryna Gornostai’s project “The Floor Is Lava” was selected to participate in the film industry section at Baltic Event Co-Production market of 21st Black Nights International Film Festival in Tallinn. The festival will take place from November 17 through December 3, 2017.
This year a record number of Ukrainian feature films will be screened at Tallinn International Film festival: “The Gateway” (dir. Volodymyr Tykhyi), “Pryputni” (dir. Arkadii Nepytaliuk), “The Line” (dir. Peter Bebjak, Slovakia, Ukraine), “Easy” (dir. Andrea Magnani, Italy, Ukraine), and “ProGamer” (dir. Justin Agnew, USA, South Korea, Sweden, Ukraine). Besides, Philip Sotnychenko’s short film “Technical Break” will compete in PÖFF Shorts, and Askold Kurov’s documentary “The Trial: the State of Russia vs Oleg Sentsov” will be screened as the festival’s special event. Two feature debuts, Kateryna Gornostai’s “The Floor Is Lava” and Nariman Aliev’s “Homeward”, will compete in the film industry section at Baltic Event Co-Production Market.
It bears reminding that “The Floor Is Lava” project has already achieved a lot: it was granted with the main prize of the film industry section at Connecting Cottbus Festival in Germany and became the winner of Odesa International Film Festival’17 pitching.
